PRESIDENT GÜL AND TGNA SPEAKER ÇIÇEK CALL CHP LEADER KILIÇDAROĞLU

President Gül called Kılıçdaroğlu following talks with Interior Minister Idris Naim Şahin and told him that the process was closely followed and this was a very important incident.

The speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Cemil Çiçek called Kılıçdaroğlu and expressed his sorrow over the incident and said that the incident was closely followed.

"This act carried out against a member of parliament by the separatist organization that aims at our country's unity and integrity is disrespect against people's will. I strongly condemn it" Çiçek said in a written statement. Chief of General Staff General Necdet Özel called Republican People's Party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

General Özel said that he had talks with Gendarmerie Commander General Bekir Kalyoncu on the incident that was being closely followed.
