Turkey U16 basketball team beat France 66-61 to clinch the title in european championship.

At the European U16 championship co-hosted by latvia and lithuania Turkey won the victory. After challenging games throughout the tournament Turkey faced France in the decisive game. Turkey making a good start in the game got ahead by the end of the 1st quarter. France tried to make a comeback but Turkey finished the 1st quarter ahead 19-16. Turkey dominated the 2nd quarter too. The margin grew with Turkish players' long range shots and Turkey ensured a 37-33 halftime lead. Turkey storming through the 2nd half never lost the control of the game and never let their rivals find easy baskets. France trimmed the distance to a single point with just over three minutes remaining in regulation. But Turkey maintained the lead and overcame France to reach for the title.

Turkish player Okben Ulubay earned an all-tournament first team selection along with winning the MVP award.
